Why do you say that your church is "The Church God Is Building"?
It is simple! The bible says in Zechariah 4:6 (NIV) ' . . . ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the LORD Almighty', and in Psalm 127:1 (NIV) God's word says 'Unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labor in vain.' Some churches have programs and contests to bring in people so that they can have big numbers. At Crystal Hill we have found that if we let God and the Holy Spirit work through the people that come through our doors that He brings the right people for the right time into the life of our church. Although we have remained small for many years, God has been preparing us all along to draw people in for a great harvest to come. In fact our location on top of the hill is biblical: Matthew 5:14-16 (NASB) says "You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. "Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. The people in our church are constantly challenged to be the salt and light to the dying world around us. We live the challenge out by edifying (ministering to the spiritual and physical needs) the church body and evangelizing the world outside of the walls of the church through special church events throughout the year and through our association with various parachurch ministries.
Crystal Hill Assembly of God was founded over 50 years ago under a tent at the base of Crystal Hill. Shortly thereafter, we moved to a small sanctuary. We have since moved to the top of Crystal Hill to the church with the big white cross visible from I-40 and I-430. Some of the original members are still present along with many new members.
